As a Principal Lead Engineer at Ameriprise India LLP, you will play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to delivering exceptional products for our valued internal and external customers. Your primary responsibility will revolve around overseeing the entire technical delivery process of the product, encompassing technical design, development, quality assurance, and performance optimization of a web application. This role will require you to act both as an individual contributor and as a leader who coordinates and reviews the work of fellow engineers within the team. Additionally, you will be accountable for integrating and providing comprehensive support for your product across the tech stack, implementing best practices to enhance the speed to market effectively. In this capacity, your key responsibilities will include spearheading the development of the technical and product vision for the team, in close collaboration with product, business, and engineering leaders. You will actively engage with cross-commit teams to ensure the successful implementation of deliverables. Furthermore, you will lead the delivery work, encompassing design, development, quality assurance, build, and deployment processes for the team. A critical aspect of your role will involve recruiting, mentoring, and leading a skilled team of engineers. Conducting code reviews and implementing best practices will also be integral to your responsibilities. Your expertise will be focused on modern front-end technologies and DevOps practices, with a particular emphasis on Advanced JavaScript & ES6, microfrontend architecture, ReactJS, and other contemporary JS frameworks/libraries. You will also be required to work with tools such as CICD and Jenkins within the primary technologies landscape. To qualify for this role, you should possess 10 to 15 years of practical experience and a proven track record in designing, developing, and operating complex web applications, along with leading engineering teams. A broad technical knowledge base, coupled with specialized expertise in areas like web application development, software engineering/testing, and data analysis, will be essential. Proficiency with diverse technologies such as React JS, TypeScript, Redux, RxJS, Webpack, Gulp, Mocha, Chai, Jest, Cypress, and CICD is also required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Preferred qualifications for this role include experience with Nx tools, managing monorepo for multiple teams, working with microfrontend architecture, Node JS, Express Server, CI/CD build processes (Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis), cloud deployments (AWS), Docker, and Kubernetes.
