Expert Science and Technology (Nitrosamine/Nitrite)

As a Scientist at Novartis, you will be responsible for planning and performing scientific experiments for the preparation and timely delivery of drug substances, drug products, processes, and procedures. You will collaborate within a multifunctional project team coordinated by a Project Leader and contribute to the maintenance of lab instruments and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include: - Meeting quality, quantity, and timelines in all assigned projects - Performing and documenting scientific experiments - Planning and organizing scientific experiments under minimal guidance - Providing documentation of raw data and evaluating results - Proposing design for next experiments and optimizing existing methods - Generating lab procedures, reports, instructions, and SOPs - Transferring procedures to pilot plant or production and addressing problems - Managing chemicals, intermediates, excipients, and solvents - Collaborating with team members for deliveries of DS and/or DP - Utilizing special tools/equipment and evaluating new lab equipment - Participating in project teams/meetings/networks Qualifications required for this role: - PhD on technical subject with relevant experience or Master of Science with 4+ years of relevant experience - Fluency in the English language - Awareness of safe handling of chemicals and equipment - Broad theoretical and scientific knowledge in relevant areas - Expertise in trace level quantification of impurities using specific analytical techniques - Proficiency in laboratory and technical tools, software, and computer tools - Good documentation skills Novartis is dedicated to helping people with diseases and their families by bringing together a community of smart, passionate individuals like you.
