As a Lab Technician/Assistant at the Centre for Life Sciences in Mahindra University, Hyderabad, India, you will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations within an academic environment. Your expertise in biochemical, microbiological, and molecular biology techniques will contribute to the success of various experiments and studies. Your responsibilities will include operating, maintaining, and calibrating a wide range of laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, electrophoresis units, incubator shakers, UV spectrometers, HPLC systems, PCR machines, and more. Additionally, you will be tasked with preparing and standardizing media, buffers, reagents, and chemicals essential for experiments and teaching purposes. It will be your duty to assist in conducting experiments related to biochemical, microbiological, and molecular biology studies while ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping of lab activities, maintenance schedules, and consumables inventory. Adherence to laboratory safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and collaborating with researchers and faculty members will also be part of your role. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Master's degree in Life Sciences or a related field and have 2-3 years of experience working in a biotechnology laboratory, preferably in an academic or industrial setting. Strong understanding of biochemical, microbiological, and molecular biology principles, proficiency in handling and troubleshooting sophisticated lab equipment, knowledge of lab safety standards, effective time management skills, attention to detail in preparing reagents and chemicals, as well as good communication and teamwork abilities are desired skills and competencies for this role.
