Job Description

Role Overview: As a member of the Group Trucks Technology team at Volvo Group, you will play a crucial role in designing sustainable transportation solutions for the future. Your work will involve engineering innovative next-gen technologies and contributing to projects that shape new, sustainable solutions. By leveraging your expertise in developing systems and collaborating effectively, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on society and leave a positive legacy for the next generation. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop Chassis Structures including frame rails, cross members, and multi-function brackets, as well as the installation of driveline components on Chassis. - Create design concepts that balance cross-functional needs and collaborate with suppliers to co-develop product solutions. - Collaborate with colleagues from different Volvo Group global sites and cross-functional teams to develop the system and its components. - Participate in the development of vehicle structures based on BEV / ICE / alternate energy propulsion systems. - Conduct vehicle packaging, durability verification, and physical validation activities. - Generate optimized design solutions while collaborating with FE simulation analysts. - Work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to anticipate process steps and propose mitigation plans for identified risks. - Create engineering documentation including drawings, technical requirements, functional specifications, and change management. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or equivalent with 3 to 6 years of relevant work experience. - Hands-on experience in truck chassis aggregates/equipment installation. - Strong expertise in structural design, analytical thinking, and problem-solving. - Knowledge of design verification and validation processes. - Proficiency in the application of GD&T. - Extensive hands-on experience in Creo and PDM software, with exposure to vehicle packaging.
