We are hiring for our client a leading leading Steel Cast components manufacturing company (MNC) Position: Development / Casting Engineer Experience: 8 - 15 years Qualification: Diploma - Mechanical Location : Viralimalai,Trichy Job Type: Permanent Job Description: Key Responsibilities : 1. Responsible for new product (casting) development 2. Improvement of existing castings 3. To manage customer complaints related to casting defects 1. New Product (casting) Development Carry flexibility study (tolerance, complexities, infrastructure, new grade etc.,) upon receiving the RFQ from the marketing department. Preparation of detailed technology of pattern layout and sharing with patter shop. Follow up with a pattern shop for the purchase order. Creation of SAP codes for the new castings. Preparation of PPAP documents and submit to customers and also preparation of process sheet for internal process.. Prepare and issue route cards to the planning department. Witness all core making, mould making and core assembly mould and pouring. Follow up with First stage, HT, felting, NDT test and dimensional layout and ensure the castings are as per customer requirements. Identify and suggest defective castings for re-work with support from the MAGMA team and Technical Head. Customer offering of sample coatings to customers. To analyse and identify quality issues / clarifications in the PNCR from customers. Finalisation of castings for bulk production with Technical Head's approval. Competencies Process / Product Knowledge Knowledge on reading drawings Team Work SAP Knowledge Documentation Skills Co-ordination skills 2. Existing products (castings) Study and analyse the existings castings for quality and efficiency improvement. Focus on Yield improvement, cost reduction, process improvement, sand reduction etc., Competencies Analytical Ability Cost Consciousness 3. Customer complaints Clarification of new product drawings with customers to identify their needs. Clarify customers on any issues in the PNCR received.
