Role & responsibilities Develop and enforce excavation and trenching safety programs. Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards. Review and approve excavation plans and method statements. Supervise deep excavation and trenching activities. Train workers and supervisors on excavation safety practices. Assess soil stability and implement shoring or sloping systems. Monitor use of protective systems like trench boxes and barriers. Perform hazard analysis and implement mitigation measures. Ensure compliance with permits and regulatory requirements. Investigate excavation-related incidents and prepare reports. Conduct emergency response drills for excavation incidents. Maintain documentation of inspections and corrective actions. Collaborate with contractors for excavation safety audits. Enforce safe practices for working near utilities and pipelines. Provide recommendations for ground stabilization techniques. Education Required Degree/Diploma in Civil/Mining Engineering or Construction Management from AICTE/SCTE&VT. Full-time 1-year Post/Adv. Diploma/Degree in Industrial Safety or NEBOSH IGC.
