Job Description Junior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Job Title: Junior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Location: Kochi (On-site) Experience: 35 Years Certifications: Oracle Database Administration I or equivalent preferred Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role: We are seeking a Junior Oracle DBA to support and maintain extensive Oracle database landscape, particularly for System Integration and Build activities in OnSite. The candidate will handle core DBA functions, with responsibilities spanning installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup, and recovery, following the Level II Database Administration Services Support Scope. Key Responsibilities: Manage Oracle databases (~200 instances) across Core and Non-Core applications in the Data Center environment. Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of Oracle databases. Ensure orderly startup and shutdown of database services. Implement security features including Oracle Advanced Security Option (ASO). Configure and maintain Oracle GoldenGate, RAC, Oracle Data Guard (ODG), Exadata, and OEM. Carry out database backups and recovery using RMAN and native tools. Monitor database performance, resolve ORA errors, and escalate issues as needed. Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning. Maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge bases for database administration. Assist in DR drills and ensure availability of DR and NDR sites. Perform space management, user account administration, and session auditing. Collaborate with system and application administrators to ensure smooth operations. Provide knowledge transfer and support for critical issues. Qualifications: 3–5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA. Oracle Database Administration I certification preferred. Familiarity with Oracle RAC, GoldenGate, Data Guard, Exadata, and OEM. Strong knowledge of RMAN, backup and recovery strategies. Basic knowledge of IBM DB2 and open-source databases is a plus. Good scripting skills (Shell, PL/SQL). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
