As a Database Performance Optimization Expert at Oracle Customer Success Services (CSS), you will play a crucial role in enabling customers to thrive with Oracle's world-class technology. Your primary responsibility will be to provide deep technical expertise to address complex database performance issues, particularly focusing on critical workloads. You will engage directly with enterprise customers, acting as a trusted advisor and technical point of contact during Hyper Care engagements. Your day-to-day tasks will involve identifying performance bottlenecks by leveraging tools such as AWR, SQL Plan analysis, and indexing strategies. You will be expected to optimize query performance, address I/O issues, and resolve resource contention scenarios. Collaboration with product teams will be essential to drive long-term database health and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. To excel in this role, you must possess a strong command of Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and SQL Tuning. Additionally, a deep understanding of Exadata architecture and optimization techniques is crucial. Hands-on experience with performance tools like AWR, SQL Plans, and Index tuning is a must. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in critical project phases are also key requirements. While not mandatory, experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and familiarity with the Oracle Product Development lifecycle and Customer Success model would be advantageous. Exposure to emerging trends in database optimization and cloud performance is also considered a plus.
