Software Engineering Principal Position Overview: The Evernorth Core Platform Engineering team seeks a seasoned and forward-thinking Principal Architect to steer the company in making strategic architecture decisions and offering expert advice that significantly influences our strategic planning. The ideal candidate will conceptualize and implement IT architecture solutions to address business challenges in accordance with our enterprise architecture direction and standards. This role encompasses technical planning, architecture development, and specification modifications, with a focus on Packaged Business Capabilities and Composable Architecture. Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic architectural guidance and advice to shape the company's strategic planning and decision-making processes. Architecture Design: Design and develop integrated IT architecture solutions encompassing processes, applications, data, and technology to tackle business challenges effectively. Technical Planning: Engage in technical planning, architecture development, and specification modifications to align with business requirements. Product Development: Formulate specifications for new products, services, applications, and service offerings. Compatibility Assessment: Evaluate the compatibility and integration of proposed products/services to ensure a cohesive architecture across interdependent technologies. Business Challenges: Anticipate internal and external business challenges and regulatory issues; suggest improvements in processes, products, or services. Problem Solving: Address unique and complex problems that have a significant impact on the business. Project Leadership: Lead cross-departmental project teams to accomplish milestones and objectives successfully. Industry Authority: Serve as the organization's external representative, recognized as an expert and thought leader in architecture. Technical Leadership: Offer technical leadership across major departments or multiple departments within a function. Qualifications: - Deep understanding and experience in designing and implementing Packaged Business Capabilities and Composable Architecture. - Extensive experience in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies. - Expertise in evolutionary design principles to ensure systems can adapt to changing requirements. - Proficiency in design thinking methodologies to foster innovative solutions. - Extensive experience with AWS and its various services. - Proficiency in Golang, Typescript, and Python. Polyglot programming skills are essential. - Strong background in data engineering practices and technologies. - Familiarity with generative AI and agentic architecture. Experience: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 18 to 20 years of IT architecture experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. - Relevant certifications in AWS, architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), and other related areas are advantageous. - Excellent problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams. - Healthcare experience and knowledge of FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource) are beneficial. Location & Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week with an expectation of overlapping with US hours as needed. The primary work location is the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India, with flexibility for remote work when necessary.
