Senior Preschool Teacher (Female) Location: Kolkata, India Job Type: Full-time Job Summary: The Senior Preschool Teacher is a highly experienced and skilled educator responsible for leading the classroom, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the overall academic and developmental program of the preschool. This role requires a deep understanding of early childhood education principles, excellent classroom management, and a passion for fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. The Senior Teacher will also serve as a key point of contact for parents and will assist in school-wide academic planning. Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Classroom Leadership: Develop and implement a creative, age-appropriate, and comprehensive curriculum that promotes the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of preschool-aged children. Employ a variety of teaching methods, including play-based learning, storytelling, music, art, and group activities to engage children. Establish and maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that adheres to all health and safety standards. Observe and assess each child's progress, maintaining detailed records and providing individualized support where needed. Curriculum & Program Development: Assist in the planning and development of the school's overall academic program and curriculum, ensuring alignment with pedagogical goals and best practices. Introduce innovative teaching techniques and educational resources to enhance the learning experience. Lead and organize special school events, activities, and celebrations. Mentorship & Team Collaboration: Act as a mentor and guide for junior teachers and teaching assistants, providing support, constructive feedback, and professional development opportunities. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program across all levels. Conduct regular team meetings to discuss student progress, classroom challenges, and new initiatives. Parent Communication & Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for parents, maintaining open and transparent communication about their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns. Conduct parent-teacher meetings and workshops to provide updates on student development and offer guidance on reinforcing learning at home. Address parent inquiries and concerns with professionalism, empathy, and a solution-oriented approach. Administrative & Professional Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, progress reports, and developmental milestones. Participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide events. Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines. Required Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor's degree. A relevant Teacher Training Certificate (e.g., Nursery Teacher Training - NTT, or an equivalent diploma) is essential. Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as a Preschool Teacher. Previous experience in a leadership or senior role (e.g., team lead, mentor) is highly desirable. Skills: Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of other languages is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Deep understanding of child development and learning principles. Strong classroom management and leadership abilities. Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. SENIOR TEACHER EXPERIENCE IN ESTABLISHED PRESCHOOL OR PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL, MINIMUM 5 YEARS TEACHER TRAINING CERTIFICATE NOT MANDATORY (HOWEVER FOR EXPERIENCE MORE THAN 10-YEARS) FLUENT ENGLISH - A MUST As Senior Teacher, you must ensure quality teaching process. The DTP must be adhered to in all respect. Preparation of right resources, and detailed planning for execution must be completed in advance and you shall be accountable for the same; the school will arrange the raw materials of resources. The positive engagement of all students is key for creating right environment. Teacher must be constantly interacting with children using activities as per DTP. Execution of class work by all students must be encouraged & actively supervised by the teacher. The notebook corrections and comments given must follow highest quality. Salary shall be commensurate with the actual performance.
