Job Description Job Title: Engineer / Senior Engineer Etching (NaOH Etching & IOX) Department: Engineering Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer / Senior Engineer Etching to join our Engineering team. The role involves developing, optimizing, and maintaining precise wet and dry etch processes for silicon and dielectric materials in semiconductor, MEMS, or microfabrication environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in NaOH/KOH-based etching , anisotropic silicon etching, and advanced process control to ensure high yield, cost efficiency, and compliance with international standards. Key Responsibilities Develop, optimize, and maintain high-yield etching processes for crystalline silicon and dielectric materials (e.g., SiO, AlO, HfO, TaO, TiO). Perform anisotropic silicon etching profile simulation and handle wafer sizes (100 mm / 150 mm / 200 mm). Operate and maintain wet etching equipment (Quartz/Teflon tanks, temperature-controlled baths, DI rinsing, IPA drying) and dry etch tools (RIE/ICP systems: Oxford, SPTS, Plasma-Therm, Samco, etc.). Work with etch chemistries: NaOH, KOH, TMAH, BOE, BHF, HF vapor and dry chemistries (CF, CHF, SF, Ar/O). Utilize advanced metrology tools : SEM, AFM, profilometer, ellipsometer, FTIR, XPS. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Production, and R&D) to drive Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, cost savings, and manpower optimization . Conduct and document DOE (Design of Experiments), SPC (Statistical Process Control) , and process capability studies (Cp, Cpk). Monitor and improve key performance metrics: OEE, OPP, PPH, FTQ, CPC, scrap cost . Prepare and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), PFMEA, SOPs, and Control Plans (CPs) . Support internal and external audits by ensuring traceability, calibration records, and ISO compliance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production and enhance yield. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 standards. Qualifications and Experience Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. 5–10 years of experience in semiconductor, MEMS, photonics, or microfabrication environments. Proven expertise in NaOH/KOH-based etching and wet/dry etching of silicon and dielectric materials. Hands-on experience with anisotropic silicon etching and wafer process handling. Knowledge of process optimization, yield improvement techniques, and Lean Manufacturing principles . Strong understanding of statistical analysis (DOE, SPC) and process capability studies. Familiarity with ISO quality and safety standards applicable to semiconductor manufacturing. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills .
