As a Software Developer at FIS, you will play a key role in developing core versions of software applications for sale to external clients. Your responsibilities will include identifying client purchasing requirements, collaborating with Product Management and client representatives, and assisting in design changes to equipment and software by interacting with engineering groups. Additionally, you will be involved in training and communicating with clients on systems application. InTrader clients, which are medium to large banking institutions in the U.S., rely on our services for various offerings such as Fixed Income Portfolio Accounting and Reporting, Regulatory Compliance, Safekeeping and Funding, and Liability Management. Some of these clients also extend our services to smaller downstream community banks. Your day-to-day tasks will involve analyzing, designing, programming, debugging, and modifying software enhancements and products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs. You will collaborate with product managers and users to define system requirements, participate in software design meetings, and write technical specifications based on conceptual designs and business requirements. Moreover, you will write code, perform testing and debugging of applications, and complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification, with at least 4 years of relevant IT experience. Proficiency in core Java 8+, Angular 2 or higher, and working with relational databases is essential. Additionally, a sound understanding of banking practices, regulations, and operations within the assigned line of business, along with expertise in design patterns and their application, will be valuable. You should be fluent in developing and understanding sequence diagrams, class models, and possess proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines. If you possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills, excellent analytical capabilities, decision-making and problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence others towards the best approach, you will be at an advantage.
