As a Lab Assistant in this role, your primary responsibilities will include housekeeping tasks such as maintaining the cleanliness and order of lab items, tools, glassware, accessories, and workbench. You will be assisting with Metallographic sample preparation by cutting, mounting, and polishing samples according to instructions. Additionally, you will support Light microscopy activities as directed. Ensuring the availability of lab consumables like gloves, lab wipes, and tissues will be part of your routine. You will also be responsible for collecting and transporting materials or chemicals for the lab from various sources as instructed. Proper labelling and storage of samples will be essential tasks that you will need to carry out diligently. Monitoring gas and compressed air pressure gauges, changing oil in FESEM vacuum pumps, and ensuring the water level in the FESEM cooler are maintained at appropriate levels are crucial aspects of this role. You will be required to monitor control panels in the lab for normal operation and promptly address any issues that may arise. Your duties will also involve escorting contractors and service personnel as needed to ensure a safe and secure working environment. This position is contractual/temporary for a period of 12 months, with the benefits of health insurance and Provident Fund provided. The work schedule is during the day shift from Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma qualification, with at least 1 year of prior experience preferred. The work location is in Bangalore, Karnataka, and the role requires in-person presence.
