Job Summary: The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. Key Responsibilities: Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans using proper cleaning methods. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas, including floors, walls, and work surfaces. Dispose of garbage and waste according to hygiene standards and recycling policies. Replenish kitchen supplies like soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials. Support chefs and cooks during service periods by ensuring necessary utensils and equipment are readily available. Operate dishwashing machines and handle chemicals safely. Report any broken equipment or maintenance issues to supervisors promptly. Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations as per company and local health codes. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries in designated storage areas. Maintain proper segregation and storage of clean and dirty items. Requirements: Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods. Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
