People within your engineering team should be able to look up to you to chart the roadmap and triage tech priorities against the others. Balance latency, throughput, cost and timelines all in a day's work. Above all, build stuff that makes you and your team proud. Superpowers/Skills that will help you succeed in this role: A good amount of experience building large scale systems while leading a team would help a lot coming into this role. Some believe it takes 15 years to get there, but weve known a few who may take much less time to get there. Being curious is a fundamental advantage in this job.
