It is important to have a good understanding of wiring diagrams, and to be able to use tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Requirements for this role include a solid knowledge of electric vehicle (EV) wiring. Freshers with basic knowledge are welcome as we provide training. Experience working with battery cells is also preferred. You should be comfortable working in a team environment and possess qualities such as responsibility, punctuality, and hard work ethic. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team at our distribution center in Pune, Maharashtra. The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations, including the Factories Act, 1948, and other relevant Indian safety standards. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in safety management, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting, and a strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Safety Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures specific to warehouse operations. Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, 1948, Maharashtra Factories Rules, and other applicable safety regulations. Conduct regular reviews and updates of safety protocols to align with industry best practices. Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification: Perform regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the warehouse, including material handling, equipment operation, and storage practices. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent accidents and injuries. Training and Awareness: Design and conduct safety training programs for employees, including forklift safety, fire safety, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and emergency response procedures. Promote a safety-first culture through regular awareness campaigns and toolbox talks. Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Prepare and maintain accurate records of incidents, safety audits, and compliance reports as required by regulatory authorities. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire evacuation drills, first-aid protocols, and coordination with local emergency services. Ensure the availability and functionality of safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, and emergency exits. Equipment and Facility Safety: Monitor the safe operation of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet trucks, and conveyor systems. Ensure proper maintenance and inspection of equipment to prevent safety hazards. Oversee the safe storage of goods, including adherence to stacking and racking guidelines. Compliance and Liaison: Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH), to ensure compliance with local safety regulations. Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory inspections and audits. Health and Safety Monitoring: Monitor workplace conditions to ensure proper ventilation, lighting, and ergonomic practices. Promote occupational health initiatives, including regular health check-ups for employees exposed to hazardous conditions. Qualifications and Skills Education: Bachelors degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Safety and Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety. Experience: 3-4 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Indian safety regulations, including the Factories Act, 1948, and Maharashtra Factories Rules. Familiarity with warehouse-specific safety standards, including material handling and equipment safety. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and training skills to engage with employees at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for incident investigation and risk mitigation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Other Requirements: Fluency in English and Marathi (Hindi is a plus). Willingness to work in shifts to support warehouse operations. 1 male and 1 Female Safety Officer Required.
