As a Manager within the Chief Data Office (CDO), your primary focus will be to support Risk Management activities aimed at enhancing trust with clients and regulators, while ensuring maximum risk reduction, resilience, policy adherence, and regulatory compliance. Your role will gradually evolve into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in data governance, contributing significantly to the development and implementation of a robust data governance framework within the organization. This position presents a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in both risk management and data governance in a dynamic data-centric environment. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk assessments of internal data and privacy management processes, leading internal reviews to ensure compliance with policies and regulations, supporting the design and review of risk management guidelines, collaborating with stakeholders to address deficiencies, and developing robust internal controls in collaboration with the 1st and 2nd lines of defence. Additionally, you will contribute to the design of Business Intelligence and reporting solutions, drive initiatives to automate and streamline risk management processes, and raise awareness about risk management benefits across the organization. In the realm of Data Governance, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of the organization's data governance framework, defining data governance guidelines and procedures aligned with the data strategy, engaging with key stakeholders to promote data governance practices, and acting as a liaison to advance data governance initiatives across departments. Continuous improvement and innovation will be key aspects of your role where you will stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes, evaluate and enhance internal processes, propose initiatives to elevate risk management and data governance capabilities, and contribute to the maturity of these functions over time. You will engage with a range of key stakeholders including the Head of Enterprise Data Governance, Global Head of Risk Management, Heads of CoEs within the CDO, Chief Data Officer, Heads of Business & Functions, and representatives from the 2nd Line of Defence. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in risk management, data management, finance, computer science, or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree or relevant certifications in risk management or data governance. A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, data governance, or data protection within the financial services industry is required. Additionally, practical knowledge of EU GDPR and e-Privacy Directive is advantageous. Strong skills in MS PowerPoint and MS Excel, attention to detail, analytical prowess, effective communication, and organizational abilities are essential for success in this role. Your technical competencies should include proficiency in Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Project Management, Communication, and Data Management.
