Direct Reporting To: IC Finance & Accounts Head Job Purpose: Responsible for effectively managing accounting functions for Large Projects, or Cluster of Projects or a Business Unit. Ensuring process accuracy, finalization of accounts for monthly, quarterly & yearly books closure & reporting as per defined timelines. Ensuring compliance in respect of accounting standards, corporate law, policies and procedures. Also provide support during bidding process, due diligence of major procurement, review cost of all projects and identify cost reduction opportunities. Key Responsibilities • Budgetary Planning and Monitoring: • Support business leaders in budget preparation and planning. • Facilitate the reduction of working capital expenditure and overheads through effective budgeting, monitoring, and controlling. • Cost Analysis and Optimization: • Conduct cost analyses and identify opportunities for cost reduction. • Implement financial strategies to optimize costs while maintaining operational efficiency. • Financial and Project Accounting: • Oversee Projects / Business Unit finance and accounting. • Lead month end close process and monthly forecasting process working with business teams. Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the Projects / business unit. • Ensure accurate and timely financial records for large-scale projects / business unit. • Cash Flow and Financial Transactions: • Monitor cash flows, accounts, and other financial transactions to ensure smooth operations. • Manage receivables and payables effectively. • Compliance and Reporting: • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, audits, and financial reporting standards. • Coordinate with external financial, compliance, and tax auditors to ensure smooth audits. • Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, forecasting packs, and KPI monitoring reports. • Conduct accounting due diligence for major procurements. • MIS and Performance Monitoring: • Monitor and report financial and non-financial performance against budgets. • Provide actionable insights through robust MIS systems. • Financial Controls and Strategies: • Implement robust financial controls to maintain transparency and efficiency. • Develop and execute strategies to optimize financial processes across the business. Educational Qualifications and Experience CA (mandatory). Additional qualifications such as CMA/CS or MBA (Finance) are desirable. • Consistent first-class academic records throughout education. • 12 to 20 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in industries similar to L&Ts operations (e.g., L&T Construction, L&T Energy EPC). • Proven track record in handling accounts for large-scale infrastructure organizations, particularly in EPC sectors such as: Power sector / Real estate / Infrastructure (roads, dams, metro projects, etc.) / Power transmission / Water, metals, and related industries • Strong knowledge of business finance, accounting principles, project-level accounting, Cash flow management, Financial planning and modelling, Financial analysis. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Proficient in leadership, communication, and stakeholder management. • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment. • Willingness to relocate based on project requirements. • Demonstrated stability, with a minimum tenure of 3+ years per organization in previous organizations.
