Summary: This role is for a seasoned Oil & Gas industry expert with deep domain knowledge and a strong specialization in simulation technologies. You will lead client-facing engagements to address complex challenges across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations using advanced simulation tools and digital twin platforms. Your expertise in virtual commissioning, energy efficiency modeling, capacity planning, physics-based simulations and Digital Twins will drive operational excellence, cost optimization, and sustainability outcomes. By leveraging Oil & Gas-specific simulation platforms such as ASPEN HYSYS, OLGA, PIPEPHASE, physics-based tools like ANSYS Fluent and Dymola, virtual commissioning platforms such as Siemens SIMIT and digital twin technologies (e.g., AVEVA, ANSYS Twin Builder), you will design and deliver high-impact solutions for process optimization, flow assurance, asset performance modeling, production system simulation, and real-time operational decision support. Your domain expertise, strategic insights, functional leadership, and client engagement capabilities will position Simulation practice as a leader in Oil & Gas digital transformation, simulation solutions and digital twins. Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Lead the conceptualization and design of simulation-based solutions for Oil & Gas clients, addressing key operational pain points and transformation goals. 2. Actively participate in client engagements, including presales, RFP responses, and solution presentations, with a focus on simulation-led value propositions. 3. Drive the solutioning and consultation for large-scale simulation and modeling initiatives, ensuring proposed approaches align with client business objectives and technical feasibility. 4. Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating domain challenges into simulation-based solutions. 5. Collaborate with ecosystem partners and internal teams to build and deliver simulation frameworks and proof of concepts. 6. Design, develop, and deploy Digital Twin solutions for critical Oil & Gas assets and processes, enabling real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and operational optimization. 7. Conduct due diligence, impact assessments, and develop solution blueprints aligned with client objectives and industry best practices. 8. Contribute to thought leadership through whitepapers, PoVs, conference presentations, and capability showcases in the simulation and Oil & Gas space. Professional & Technical Skills: Must Have Skills: 1. 10- 12 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry with deep domain knowledge across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. 2. Proven expertise in simulation tools and platforms such as ASPEN HYSYS, OLGA, PIPEPHASE, AnyLogic (Oil & Gas libraries), Dymola, ANSYS Fluent, and digital twin platforms like AVEVA, Siemens, and ANSYS Twin Builder. 3. Demonstrated success in delivering simulation projects with significant business impact, including improved throughput, reduced downtime, optimized energy usage, enhanced asset reliability, and measurable cost savings. 4. Strong understanding of process engineering, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and control systems, with hands-on experience in applying simulation to refinery optimization, flow assurance, LNG plant modeling, offshore asset simulation, and energy efficiency analysis. 5. Familiarity with data integration protocols (e.g., OPC-UA, MQTT), historian systems, and cloud-based simulation environments. 6. Excellent communication and storytelling skills to engage with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Good to Have Skills: 1. Experience with AI/ML-based predictive analytics integrated with simulation models for use cases such as predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and process optimization. 2. Knowledge of SCADA, DCS, and industrial automation systems commonly used in Oil & Gas facilities. 3. Exposure to sustainability modeling, including carbon footprint analysis, energy transition planning, and emissions tracking through simulation. 4. Understanding of IoT, edge computing, and real-time data streaming for enabling live simulation and digital twin synchronization. 5. Awareness of greenfield and brownfield digital transformation projects in Oil & Gas, including simulation-driven design validation and operational readiness. Tooling / Platform Exposure 6. Simulation Tools: ASPEN HYSYS, Aspen Dynamics, OLGA, PIPEPHASE, AnyLogic (Oil & Gas libraries), Dymola, ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS CFX 7. Digital Twin Platforms: AVEVA, Siemens (e.g., COMOS, SIMIT), ANSYS Twin Builder 8. Virtual Commissioning Tools: Siemens SIMIT, Emerson Mimic, Emulate3d 9. Data Integration & Automation: OPC-UA, MQTT, SCADA, DCS, PLC interfaces 10. Analytics & Visualization: Python (NumPy, Pandas), Power BI, Tableau, SQL 11. Enterprise & Operational Systems: MES platforms (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Honeywell POMS), ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle EBS), Historian systems (e.g., OSIsoft PI, Honeywell PHD) Leadership & Behavioural Competencies 12. Strategic vision to align simulation and digital twin solutions with Oil & Gas industry trends, energy transition goals, and client transformation roadmaps. 13. Adaptability to address evolving Oil & Gas challenges such as decarbonization, operational resilience, and digital operations maturity. 14. Ability to translate complex Oil & Gas operational requirements—across upstream, midstream, and downstream—into simulation models that support production continuity, asset reliability, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Additional Information 1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Process, or Industrial Engineering. 2. Certifications in simulation tools, process engineering, or digital twin technologies (e.g., ASPEN, ANSYS, AVEVA, Siemens) are preferred. 3. This position is based in Bengaluru. 4. Candidate should have a minimum of 10–12 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry with a strong focus on simulation and digital transformation.
