The Infrastructure Engineer/Linux Administrator will be a part of a team responsible for the design, management and monitoring of a large number of Red Hat Linux systems in all regions of the world. Core functions for this role include managing Datacenter and Cloud infrastructure, issue resolution, and management of new installations, upgrades, and migrations. This role includes responsibilities for interacting with internal customers at ISS and participating in engineering projects from the design phase through implementation and support. Responsibilities: Design/Support of container platforms, such as Docker/K8S/K3s/Podman/Openshift Webstack technology (LAMP) Working knowledge of standard Linux backup and recovery tools Working knowledge of standard Linux security methodologies, hardening procedures, and best practices Plan and conduct installations, transitions, upgrades of all compute systems (Windows and/or Linux running in a VMWARE environment) Evaluate, design, develop and maintain server, storage, and other IT strategies for the enterprise, and all supporting products and services. Analyze server and storage characteristics (e.g., CPU behavior, latency, transmission speeds, packet loss and throughput), triage and troubleshoot problems. Implements policies for the appropriate use and management of the firms compute resources.
