Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning and Delivery:

• Plan and execute English language lessons aligned with the school curriculum and academic standards.
• Teach core topics such as grammar, vocabulary, essay writing, creative writing, and public speaking.
• Introduce and analyze literary works across genres, including poetry, prose, drama, and non-fiction.
• Employ diverse teaching methods such as group discussions, debates, role-plays, and project-based learning to enhance student engagement.

Language Skill Development:

• Develop advanced writing skills, including argumentative, descriptive, and narrative essays.
• Enhance students’ reading comprehension and literary analysis through structured assignments.
• Encourage verbal communication skills through presentations, discussions, and speaking exercises.

Assessment and Feedback:

• Design and administer quizzes, tests, essays, and projects to evaluate student understanding and progress.
• Provide detailed, constructive feedback to students to improve their performance.
• Maintain accurate records of student’s grades and performance for reporting purposes.

Classroom Management:

• Foster a disciplined and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and collaboration.
• Establish and enforce clear classroom rules and routines.
• Address behavioral issues promptly and constructively, in accordance with school policies.

Support and Guidance:

• Identify and assist students with diverse learning needs, offering additional resources or referrals when necessary.
• Mentor students to build confidence in their language skills and encourage creative expression.

Parental Communication:

• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to discuss their child’s progress, strengths, and areas for improvement.
• Conduct parent-teacher meetings and provide actionable recommendations for supporting learning at home.

Professional Development:

• Stay updated on new teaching methodologies, tools, and trends in English language education.
• Participate in workshops, training programs, and collaborative sessions with other educators.

Extracurricular Activities:

• Organize and support language-related extracurricular activities such as debates, drama clubs, essay competitions, and literary events.
• Encourage students to participate in co-curricular programs that promote language and communication skills.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in English or Education is preferred.

Certification:

• Valid teaching certification for Grades 6–10 in the relevant region.

Experience:

• Prior experience teaching middle and high school students is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in teaching advanced grammar, writing techniques, and literature analysis.

Skills:

• Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, composition, and literary analysis.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use technology effectively to support teaching and learning.
• Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with adolescents.

Working Conditions:

13. Work hours align with the school schedule, with additional time for lesson planning, grading, and participating in school events.
