The Engineer designs, reviews, and analyzes assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects, by nature of their complexity and difficulty, require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering or science. Through broader and more technically challenging work assignments, you will develop a thorough understanding of policies, methods, and procedures. For those with Machinery backgrounds, a B.S. degree in Marine, Mechanical, or other related disciplines is required. Possession of a seagoing engineering license or professional/chartered engineer license is preferred. Knowledge of related technical disciplines is essential for this role. The ability to identify, analyze, and propose solutions to problems, along with a good command of the English language, is required. Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary, as well as the ability to work well with others. Obtaining a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems is important. You will report to a Director or Manager in this role.
