As an Engineering Manager at Agoda, you will play a significant and challenging role in leading one or more of our engineering teams. Your responsibilities will include: - Being hands-on: Writing and reviewing code, providing expert coaching and guidance to engineers. - Having a love for engineering and a passion for building things elegantly and at scale. - Full stack engineering experience across infrastructure, client-side, back end, performance, data, and more. - Developing people: Inspiring and developing individuals to achieve their potential, as well as integrating new team members effectively. - Demonstrating proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Scala, C#). - Strong experience in systems architecture, particularly in complex, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems. - Operating with autonomy, making decisions, setting KPIs, and taking ownership. - Practicing data-driven decision-making and having a good understanding of application security. - Must have run engineering teams with 5+ direct reports and worked in successful agile development teams. - Proficiency in more than one programming language is a plus.
