Engineering Manager (Backend Java/Golang)Experience: 812 Years | Location: Gurgaon**

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with strong hands-on expertise in Java/golang backend development and proven team leadership experience. The ideal candidate will drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions while leading engineers, ensuring engineering excellence, and collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality delivery within defined parameters.
• Architect and design scalable, efficient, and robust backend systems and define interactions between system components.
• Review technical designs, code, and solution approaches to maintain best engineering practices.
• Oversee development of new features on the Java stack (Spring/Hibernate) and encourage adoption of modern frameworks and tools.
• Guide fast prototyping and proof-of-concept development efforts for new product ideas.
• Ensure compliance with build, release, CI/CD, and configuration management processes.
  

People & Project Management

• Manage, mentor, and guide a team of backend engineers to achieve technical excellence.
• Provide clear goals, regular feedback, and performance evaluations for team members.
• Drive execution against project plans, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and cross-functional teams to align on technical roadmap and priorities.
• Plan resources, manage workloads, and coordinate across multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
  

Quality & Process Excellence

• Own execution of quality plans, testing strategies, and engineering processes across your modules.
• Ensure development of comprehensive unit tests and adherence to coding standards.
• Promote agile best practices and refine processes to improve development efficiency.
  

Desired Skill Set

• Strong command over Object-Oriented Programming, Java, Spring, Hibernate, and related backend technologies.
• Solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL data stores and scalable system architecture.
• Familiarity with MVC, SOA, microservices, and RESTful API design.
• Exposure to front-end technologies (JavaScript, AngularJS/ReactJS, HTML, CSS, jQuery) is a plus.
• Experience working in product-based or start-up environments is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and deliver complex, high-impact projects.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  

Educational Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech/M.S. in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field from a premier institute.
• 810 years of relevant experience in software development, with at least 23 years in a leadership/managerial role.
