Engineering Manager - Backend

You will be joining the Falcon squad as an Engineering Manager at REA Group's Tech Center in Cyber City, dedicated to accelerating global technology delivery through relentless innovation. Your role will involve managing and enhancing core property data services, including the Property Data API Suite. You will be responsible for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining these APIs, as well as working on incident management, data processing tasks, and ensuring the reliability of property data services. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading end-to-end technical delivery of complex initiatives under the product management pipeline using agile methods and frameworks. - Providing technical leadership and guidance to the team in data engineering and related technologies. - Contributing to the design and architecture of scalable, efficient, and secure data and API solutions. - Establishing effective ways of working within and across teams. - Driving adoption of best practices, coding standards, and engineering principles. - Conducting performance analysis, optimization, and tuning of data processing workflows. - Mentoring, coaching, and leading engineers to foster professional growth and create a culture of quality and efficiency. - Collaborating with stakeholders to define data governance policies and data quality standards. - Driving continuous improvement initiatives such as automation and tooling enhancements. Qualifications required for this role: - 8-13 years of experience as a developer. - Proven people leadership and mentoring experience. - Proficiency in SQL and Python. - Experience with databases, data platform, and DBT. - Knowledge of Big Query and delivery approaches like TDD and CI. - Commitment to code quality, security, and user trust. - Experience developing scalable products for millions of users. - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with global teams. - Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on web development trends. Bonus points for proficiency in Typescript and experience with AWS, Google Cloud (Apigee), and GraphQL.
