About the Role We re looking for a Data Engineering Lead to take complete ownership of our data ecosystem from acquiring and ingesting data from multiple sources, through structuring and storing it in well-designed, accessible formats, to enabling reporting, analytics, and product-driven insights. You will set the vision and strategy for how data flows through the organization, ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business priorities. This includes supporting both batch and real-time needs, enforcing strong governance, and ensuring that data is accurate, complete, and trusted across teams. On the Job Own the entire data lifecycle ingestion, organization, storage, processing, and presentation for business use. Define and implement data architecture and strategy to meet both operational and analytical needs. Build and maintain reliable, observable, and maintainable data systems that handle batch and near real-time use cases. Ensure data quality, completeness, and governance, proactively detecting and resolving discrepancies. Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to define, measure, and optimize key business and product metrics. Anticipate and identify data-related issues before they impact the business. Lead, mentor, and grow the data engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability. Must Haves 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of leading projects or teams. Proven experience leading the design, implementation, and scaling of end-to-end data systems. Strong understanding of the data development lifecycle, from ingestion to final business presentation. Ability to work seamlessly across technical, product, and business teams. Solid grasp of data quality, governance, and compliance principles. Experience ensuring observability and proactive monitoring of data systems. Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; familiarity with Scala or Java. Hands-on experience with streaming and batch data processing frameworks Experience designing large-scale data lakes/warehouses and implementing best practices for schema evolution and partitioning. Strong experience working with AWS (or GCP/Azure) cloud platforms. Domain knowledge in fintech or a similarly data-intensive, regulated industry. Good to Haves Fintech or financial data experience, including regulatory compliance and reporting. Experience deploying real-time analytics or event-driven architectures. Hands-on knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Familiarity with data observability tools (e.g., Monte Carlo, Databand). Exposure to ML pipelines and model operationalization.
