As an Engineering Lead Java-VP at Barclays, you will be leading the evolution of the digital connectivity landscape, driving innovation and excellence. Your role involves harnessing cutting-edge technology to revolutionize digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences. You will work alongside technology enthusiasts with relevant experience and object-oriented programming skills to deliver product engineering capabilities for applications serving millions of customers in the US. **Key Responsibilities**: - Lead engineering projects in Java, Cloud, CI/CD, and AI tech stack. - Manage projects effectively and handle program/dependency management. - Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management skills. - Collaborate effectively and have a proactive attitude. - Utilize strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design using Java or similar language. - Implement Java 21 and have hands-on experience with JEE frameworks like Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JPA, etc. - Work on Microservices/REST endpoints Architecture with knowledge of Service Discovery, Load Balancing, Resiliency, etc. - Understand Messaging concepts and technologies like Active MQ/RabbitMQ. - Apply DevOps concepts and utilize open-source cloud technologies like AWS, OpenShift. Use authentication methods like OAuth, OAuth 2. - Experience with build tools such as Maven/Gradle and DevOps tools like Gitlab Pipelines, AI/Gen AI use cases. **Qualifications Required**: - Experience in enterprise containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift. - Proficiency in TDD (Test Driven Development), Junit, Mockito. - Familiarity with code scan tools like SonarQube, Veracode, Prisma Scan. - Experience in API development and integration with third-party vendors. The company expects you to contribute to the design, development, and improvement of software to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues. You will collaborate cross-functionally, participate in code reviews, stay informed of industry trends, and adhere to secure coding practices. Additionally, you will need to implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design and reliability. If you have leadership responsibilities, you are expected to contribute to strategy, drive requirements, manage resources, and maintain policies. You will need to advise key stakeholders, manage risks, and demonstrate leadership in managing risk and strengthening controls.
