Engineer - Wind Structural Engineering

WSP is seeking an Engineer to join the iCRC UK Building Specialists team. As part of WSP iCRC UK's Specialists Group, our Wind Engineering team offers specialized wind engineering services to support major multi-disciplinary projects and provides unbiased technical advice to end clients. The Wind Engineering team utilizes a network of trusted wind tunnel facilities and in-house CFD modeling experts to deliver high-quality consultancy services. Emphasizing client satisfaction, the team focuses on delivering technical excellence on landmark projects within tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct wind climate analysis studies. - Perform desktop studies. - Design wind tunnel experiments and collaborate with model makers. - Analyze and interpret wind tunnel data. - Prepare technical reports and presentation documents. - Contribute to the R&D efforts of the Wind Engineering team. - Execute defined tasks under the supervision of an Associate. - Collaborate with the CFD team and other engineering groups as needed. - Attend client meetings and wind tunnel tests/workshops as required. - Engage in personal development activities to enhance technical knowledge and skills. Mandatory Skills: - Proficiency in experimental wind tunnel testing techniques and data analysis for unsteady & bluff body aerodynamics. - Minimum 5 years of experience in boundary layer wind tunnel testing related to wind effects on building structures. - Knowledge of building codes in the context of wind engineering. - Proficient in Python programming. - Experience with various CAD software, especially Rhino 3D. - Strong attention to detail and ability to meet quality and accuracy standards in report preparation. - Excellent problem-solving skills, balancing academic principles with practical engineering applications. Capable of proactively finding solutions to daily challenges.,
