As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, creating, modifying, and validating embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs to launch cutting-edge, world-class products that meet and exceed customer needs. Collaboration with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams is essential to design system-level software solutions and gather information on performance requirements and interfaces. The minimum qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree in the mentioned fields with 1+ year of experience or a PhD is also accepted. Additionally, 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. is required. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 3 to 6 years of experience. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of Configuration management, Software development, Integration and release processes, C programming, compilers, Python programming, and Tools for Automation. Responsibilities also include developing and maintaining build system software and tools to generate various image flavors, integration methodologies, and defining test cases for continuous integration and test automation. As a Software Engineer at Qualcomm, you will interact closely with cross-functional software teams to verify and debug software stability issues and features, as well as perform image and system-level testing. The candidate will be part of a highly interactive and dynamic environment, engaging with cross-functional teams to triage system-level issues and propose solutions. This role works under supervision and decision-making may affect work beyond the immediate work group. Effective communication skills are required to convey information, and basic negotiation, influence, and tact may be necessary. Tasks do not have defined steps; therefore, planning, problem-solving, and prioritization skills are crucial to complete tasks effectively.
