Engineer, Procurement Quality Engineering

As a Procurement Quality Engineering (PQE) Engineer at HARMAN Automotive, you will have a pivotal role in supplier development to meet the requirements of HARMAN, its clients, and the automotive sector. Your responsibilities will include evaluating potential suppliers, conducting supplier audits, driving improvements in supplier capabilities, and ensuring alignment between company and supplier specifications. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate potential suppliers" technical capabilities utilizing tools like VDA6.3 Audit - Perform new supplier on-site validation audits and create mitigation plans for identified gaps and risks - Ensure alignment between company and supplier specifications to prevent deviations and supply issues - Collaborate with Procurement, Best Cost Analytics, Supplier Quality Engineering, and other stakeholders to enhance supplier capabilities - Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) with new suppliers - Lead the rollout of Global Quality tools/processes/documentation within the site/supply base - Prepare for the VSM audit/activity at the supplier and ensure all relevant information is accessible - Drive Supplier Quality Improvement Plan (SQIP) for underperforming suppliers Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Quality, or Chemistry) - Minimum 5 years of experience in quality and/or manufacturing processes - 3 years of experience in the automotive industry - Strong background in quality problem solving - Expertise in supplier development, qualification, manufacturing, and test processes - Knowledge of quality core tools and standards such as IATF, VDA, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC - Ability to lead and achieve on-quality, on-cost, and on-time commitments - Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills - Lean Manufacturing Training - Experience in auditing suppliers for conformance to quality standards HARMAN is dedicated to establishing an inclusive and diverse work environment that nurtures professional and personal growth.
