Engineer Plumbing & Fire Protection(Hospitals)

Job Description: As a Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer at WSP, your role will involve undertaking technical reviews, peer reviews, checks, and contributing to the design process. You will provide continuous feedback to the Associate/ Principal Engineer on the effectiveness of existing protocols and processes, aiming for continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will also include participating in project and team meetings, disseminating information within the team, and effectively communicating with other teams in the organization. It will be essential for you to identify and address potential risk issues while adhering to the company's commercial and contracting processes. Managing delegated tasks to meet deadlines and flagging resourcing concerns to the team leader will be crucial in this role. Additionally, identifying and highlighting additional fees to the Associate/ Principal Engineer will be part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Plumbing & Fire Protection design experience for commercial and residential buildings at concept, schematic, and detailed design stages - Conducting fixture load calculations and pipe pressure drop calculations - Sizing pipes for hot & cold water systems and fire protection - Preparing Plumbing and Fire equipment schedules for pumps, pipes, valves, etc., as well as Bill of Quantities (BOQs) - Creating layouts, schematics, sections, and hand mark-ups for plant rooms - Familiarity with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, ASPE, IPC, and all NFPA Fire codes and standards Desired Skills: - Proficiency in heavy computation for pipe sizing - Knowledge of cold & hot water and drainage distribution systems - Experience with Revit MEP software for 3D modeling and coordination Qualifications: - B.Tech /B.E. in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (Note: No additional details about the company were included in the job description.),
