Engineer Manager Data

As an Engineering Manager at our organization, you will be leading the team in India for multiple ongoing data engineering projects. Your primary focus will be on project delivery, ensuring support for the technology platform, and enhancing data quality within the customer data department. This role requires you to provide leadership within the data department, ensuring the successful technical delivery of ongoing data projects. The data generated by the Customer Data department plays a crucial role in enabling data-driven decisions for various other departments such as Front Office, Marketing, Compliance, AML, and several other StoneX applications. You will be expected to lead the India team while also serving as a technical lead, utilizing advanced techniques and cutting-edge technologies related to data mastering and data engineering. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about continuous improvement and dedicated to enabling our consumers to achieve their goals through data-driven decisions. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing direction and guidance to other team members to ensure the successful outcomes of projects. In this role, you will work with a variety of technologies including databases such as SQL, MSSQL, Databricks, and Document Databases like MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Cassandra. You should be proficient in programming languages such as Python, PySpark, Java, and C#. Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud will be essential for this role. Your primary duties will include leading a small team of developers and testers, collaborating with stakeholders, understanding system protocols and data flows, working with team leaders across different regions, and staying updated on emerging technology tools and trends. You will also be expected to contribute to innovation and enablement by implementing new ideas to enhance our systems and processes. Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring and developing team members, driving best practices, and contributing to long-term department planning initiatives. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 8 years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Management, or Production Support in large enterprises. You should also have hands-on experience in Data Engineering or Software Development within the capital markets or trading industry. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and experience with cloud providers like Azure, AWS, or GCP is required. Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of enterprise architecture patterns, design principles, and industry best practices.
