Position Overview

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, popularly known as GITAM was founded in 1980 by an inspired group of eminent intellectuals and industrialists of Andhra Pradesh led by late Dr M.V.V.S. Murthi, former Member of Parliament and popular philanthropist.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

1. Mentor the community of innovators for building prototypes/ products.
2. Assisting coachesand venture teamsin product development process.
3. Collaborate with departments, schools across university to impart maker skills and foster a vibrant maker community.
4. Identify the needsof users and upgrade, upkeep,replenishment and upgradation of inventory of makerspace consumables and equipment.
5. Training students in operating the machinery with standard safety procedures in the process of innovative product development

Qualifications:

• B. TECH/B.E. in Mechanical/EEE/ECE/Instrumentation with 1-3 yearsof practical experience preferably from Industry

• Proficiency in usage of sensors and microprocessors
• Experience in machining operations using powertools preferable.
• Hands-on experience in product development would be an added advantage.
