Description
You will be joining WSP as an engineering geologist specializing in Geotechnical Applications, where you will be an essential part of the technical support, Mine Engineering, Stability, and Geology team in Bengaluru/Noida & onsite, dedicated to serving the global mining business. Your role will involve conducting specialized analyses for mining projects while collaborating closely with global leaders in the mining sector. - Assist with geotechnical characterization and assessments for underground, open pit, and mine closure rock mechanics projects. - Plan geotechnical field data collection programs, including health and safety plans and utility locates. - Process and analyze geotechnical data using Excel and RocScience Dips, along with expertise in CAD-based software. - Prepare and work with 2D and 3D numerical models for stability analysis of slopes and underground stopes. - Conduct geotechnical data collection in the field, including core logging, packer testing, and surveying. - Provide guidance to onsite personnel during data collection and drilling activities. - Participate in all project lifecycle aspects, from proposal to senior review, ensuring technical quality and safety requirements are met. - Deliver cost-effective solutions to clients within specified time, budget, and quality parameters. - Perform statistical analyses and interpret drill/laboratory data for geotechnical design purposes. - Identify and manage geotechnical hazards, conduct stability analyses, and review designs using 3D modeling packages. - Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical assessments into project objectives. - Provide technical guidance and recommendations to project teams, stakeholders, and clients. - Utilize industry-leading geotechnical software tools for analyses and prepare technical reports and presentations. - Support business development activities by offering technical insights for proposals, meetings, and presentations, while upholding health, safety, and environmental standards. - Possess a Master's degree in Engineering Geology with a focus on Geotechnical Applications for Mining, Exploration, and Resource Reserve Estimation. - Have 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in consulting for Engineering Geology Applications in open-pit and underground mining.,
