Engineer - Engine Performance & Simulation As an Engineer in the Power Solutions & Controls Development team within LPSD, you will serve as: An experienced individual contributor on complex projects and assignments for the end-to-end design and development of large diesel, dual-fuel and gas engines focussed on alternate fuels including Methanol, Hydrogen and others. This will involve utilizing thermodynamic cycle simulation and other engineering analysis tools to efficiently communicate results to team members and making program decisions. You will also perform engine test data analysis, results review and documentation, project management planning and updates. Mentor and develop other engineers in the team. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical/Automobile/Aerospace Engineering from accredited Indian or Global Engineering schools Overall experience of 8 years in Engine performance, simulation and controls development 3+ years of experience developing engine systems for diesel, gas, and dual fuel engines with specialization in alternate fuels including Methanol, Hydrogen and others. Executing engine performance and simulation work using 1D combustion/thermodynamic tools Extensive experience in GT-Power/Dynasty, Matlab/Simulink, Vector CANape, and their application in gas/diesel/dual fuel engine development. Requires strong technical leadership skills who has the ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers and suppliers Must have demonstrated excellent analytical skills and have an extensive understanding of complex engineering concepts and applications Perform needs analysis and initiate ideas, create/evaluate new processes and perform complex analysis work, identify and solve challenging problems Create and deliver technical reports. Job Summary: The Project Lead is responsible for overseeing complex diesel engine testing projects for the Large CAT Engines and the Perkins 5000/4000 series. Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed. Cross-Functional Coordination - Coordinate resources and facilitate collaboration across global teams, including the Engine product development team, Test Cell operations team, Engine Performance team, Performance teams, Platform teams, TC-L Analysts, and Operations teams in India, the UK, and the USA. Ensure effective communication and alignment among all stakeholders. Technical Leadership Maintain deep understanding of Test Cell operations at TC-L and ensure operational readiness. Drive engine performance development and testing, ensuring compliance with Conformity of Production (CoP) standards. Troubleshoot technical issues and provide expert guidance on resolution strategies. Team & Resource Management - Direct project staffing, motivate team members, and foster a high-performance culture. Lead team meetings, track deliverables, and ensure accountability across the project team. Recognize and promote contributions of individual team members. Financial Oversight - Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability. Provide regular updates on cost performance and resource utilization. Documentation & Reporting - Maintain comprehensive documentation of test procedures, results, and compliance records. Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and leadership. Required Qualifications: Bachelor s or master s degree in mechanical/Thermal Engineering from an accredited institution. Proven experience in Diesel Engine Test Cell operations. DESCRIPTION The Current Product Reliability Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and durability of Cummins' products by applying sound statistical tools, warranty data analysis, and technical insights. This role focuses on reliability data analytics for various products, identifying failure trends, reporting to leadership, and supporting improvement initiatives. Working under the guidance of experienced team members, the engineer will contribute to customer satisfaction and product excellence by driving fact-based decisions and proactive problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Apply engineering and scientific methods to analyze reliability data and ensure component and system reliability meets defined targets. Perform warranty data analysis, life data analysis, and reliability analytics using statistical methods and tools. Present analysis reports to leadership teams, explain problems identified, and recommend corrective actions. Support the development of methods, processes, and tools that quantify and enhance product reliability. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Service, Quality, Finance, Marketing, and Design Engineering.
