What Your Responsibilities Will Be This is a leadership role with global scope and regional impact, reporting into a US-based global People & Culture leader. Youll be based in India and help shape the employee experience across Avalaras important regions: India, the US, LATAM, and EMEA. Build a Global Strategy That Works at the Local Level Design and implement a globally consistent employee experience strategy that reflects Avalaras values and priorities, while adapting to local needs across India, the Americas, and EMEA. Connect efforts directly to Avalaras transformation goals, helping simplify processes, support performance, and increase clarity around how people grow and succeed. Embed Fairness and Consistency Across Talent Practices Partner with Talent, HRBPs, and COEs to embed fairness and equity into programs like performance management, promotions, career development, and recognition. Build practical guidelines that help teams make consistent, and scalable decisions across regions and departments. Shape and Support the Employee Journey Identify moments that matter across the employee lifecycle onboarding, development, feedback, and recognition and ensure these experiences are aligned with our values and performance culture. Create resources that make it easier for employees to navigate us, understand expectations, and find opportunities to grow. Use Engagement and Feedback Data to Lead Action Partner with local leaders and COEs to review engagement and other feedback data as inputs to employee experience, inclusion, and culture efforts. Translate insights into targeted, practical actions that improve how teams operate and feel supported locally and globally. Support Belonging and Collaboration Across Regions Strengthen employee communities and support cross-regional collaboration by building programs that promote cultural understanding and team effectiveness. Provide simple tools and support to help these groups operate without becoming overly resource-intensive. Drive Social Responsibility Through Understanding In partnership with the ESG leader, develop CSR programs that reflect Avalaras values and help employees contribute to their local communities in meaningful, scalable ways. Ensure these programs are in consideration of our priorities with clear measures of success. Bring Data, Not Just Ideas Use data and insights to evaluate the effectiveness of programs, identify areas for improvement, and demonstrate Value to partners. Promote accountability through measurement and adjust based on whats working and whats not. What Youll Need to be Successful More than 15 years of HR experience, including senior roles in employee experience, talent management, or HRBP. Expertise building global programs that are practical, with care for our needs, and scalable across geographies. Experience with how to build systems that promote fairness and consistency without bureaucracy. Experience working in global tech or SaaS companies undergoing growth or transformation. You understand how your work ties to retention, productivity, and culture. Program and change management capabilities across departments, geographies, and partners. Global mindset and cultural awareness youve led or partnered with teams across India, the US, LATAM, and EMEA.
