You should possess a strong background in evaluating various AI/ML outputs and models such as recommender systems, similarity scoring, classification, and regression. Your role will involve breaking down complex business challenges into manageable sub-tasks that can be addressed with AI/ML solutions to facilitate decision-making at scale. A solid understanding of statistical concepts and empirical methods that influence post-modeling decisions like sorting, ranking, and selection is essential. You must have substantial experience in transitioning Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and experimental models into production-grade AIML systems. Collaborating effectively with ML engineering and MLOps teams is crucial to deploying AI/ML models, constructing and serving models through APIs, and integrating AI/ML models into web applications. The role requires the ability to lead mid-sized teams, strategize project tracks centered around AI/ML and data science, and strike a balance between delegation and hands-on development. Applying a first-principles approach to tackle data science problems, communicating data requirements to data engineering teams, and elucidating model outputs to business users are key responsibilities. Engaging with business users to comprehend requirements and translating them into technical data science challenges is imperative. Effectively communicating and translating model algorithms and outputs to non-technical users and stakeholders is expected. Proficiency in agile methodologies and project management practices is essential. Creating efficient user stories and other agile project artifacts should come naturally.
