The appointed candidate will assist senior team members in undertaking intersection analysis, traffic simulations, travel demand modelling, and providing support services for the submission of traffic impact studies and transportation master plans. You will support on the data analysis and data processing for the traffic analysis work and in site access studies. You will work with experienced strategic and micro-simulation modellers across Canada who are at the cutting edge of modeling software application. Experience and knowledge of junction design and analysis, traffic software including (Synchro, SIDRA, HCS, Vistro), strategic modeling software (Emme, VISUM, Aimsun, TransCAD), and micro-simulation modeling (VISSIM) as well as a good understanding of fundamental modeling techniques and traffic management techniques to enable you to work effectively as part of the team. Experience in highway design and application of CAD software for the design works would be an additional benefit. Responsibilities Be a core member of WSPs Modelling/ Transport Planning team, with a key focus on detail and quality; Develop reports and presentations; Zeal to grow self and dedication towards working independently/ with minimal guidance where required; Attend and contribute in team and project meetings via Teams and Video-conferencing; Work within project constraints; such as time, budget, and resource; Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline; Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies; and other duties as assigned. Masters degree in Transportation Planning or equivalent from an accredited university or Urban Planning degree with an emphasis in transportation planning; A solid understanding of traffic engineering and traffic signal operations. Experience with transportation-related software packages (i.e., Synchro, SIDRA, HCS, and VISSIM) is required; A solid understanding of Travel Demand Modelling and its applications. Experience with transportation modeling related software packages (i.e., EMME, VISUM, and TransCAD) is required; Familiarity with graphic design, SharePoint, AutoCAD, Microstation, Bentley InRoads, and GIS software would be an asset; Excellent communication, presentation, proposal, and report writing skills are essential; Post-graduate with 1 to 2 years of international experience. Familiarity with the UK Department for Transport's (DfT) TAG guidance and its implementation on projects is essential. Experience with UK DfT software like DIADEM, TUBA, and WITA, as well as survey design and data analysis skills, are also crucial. A solid grasp of variable demand modelling and forecasting is expected. Desirable but not essential qualifications include expertise in Geographic Information System (GIS), proficiency in other software such as VISUM, CUBE, or EMME, and knowledge of microsimulation software like VISSIM, PARAMICS, and AIMSUN.
