What you ll do: ESA-ESS-DIT has an opening for an Power Electronics Engineer position who is passionate about his/her trade, to join our team in building the design, development and testing of Hardware projects for Power Quality products in Electrical Domain. The incumbent will be part of development team responsible for the development of 1ph power quality products like UPS, ePDU, ATS etc from initial proposal through production launch. The incumbant needs to work closely with global teams to drive project execution through customer support, new feature additions and enhancement of existing features. Some of the functions of this role include: Involve in technical design including architectural. Providing project, process, and technical support on project activities along with contribution to product development & technology innovations. Participate in design and development planning efforts. Plan product launch by coordinating with global stakeholders for all new hardware design activities. Generate ideas and innovative solutions which will provide competitive edge to business products. Design power electronic circuits and control systems for 1 phase UPS, ePDU, ATS and network cards. Design peripheral interfaces for microprocessors and microcontrollers. Participate in establishing design requirements and specifications, implement test set ups and perform design verification testing. Perform debugging and troubleshooting to identify design and test set up issues. Participate in system interface design activities and resolution of integration issues. Participate in tasks related to new product development including planning, task estimation, design, design verification, peer review, integration and release. Collaborate with external and internal customers, such as Marketing, Service, Operations and other engineering teams throughout the product development life cycle. Assist Lead Engineers and counterparts in design reviews. Plan and execute tasks in collaboration with the product team to ensure project objectives are met. Perform tasks per team processes and guidelines and provide recommendations for continuous process improvement. Propose and provide innovative, competitive technical solutions which can make significant business impact and provide value to stakeholders. Work directly with stakeholders, engineering, and test to create high quality products that solve customer problems. Suggests and develops re-usable hardware components and looks for continuous improvement opportunities. Shares knowledge within the team and demonstrates flexibility working in parallel on multiple assignments/product categories. Monitors progress and achievements on projects. Provides timely status updates and reports to stakeholders. Qualifications: Masters in Electronics/Electrical Engineering. 1-3 years experience in designing power electronics and mixed signals circuits. Skills: 1. Strong experience in power electronics, power converter topologies and magnetics design. 2. Sound experience in analyzing, troubleshooting and programming microcontrollers based design circuits. 3. Hands on experience in developing schematics and reviewing and approving board layouts. 3. Testing and Troubleshooting new design issues to root cause. 4. Strong experience in using common tools and methods to work in high power lab environment including: oscilloscope, power analyzers and meters 5. Strong knowledge of EMI / EMC certification and environmental compliances - UL /IEC / RoHS / REACH etc. 6. Sound experience on simulation tools like PSpice, LTSpice, Matlab, etc. 7. Experience with printed circuit board layout design involving tools like Altium and Allegro. 8. Prefered knowledge on designing production testers and simulators. 10.
