As a Garment Technologist based in Tiruppur, India, you will be responsible for managing the garment technical process throughout various stages, from initial development samples to shipment. Your duties will include overseeing the creation of customer technical design packs, collaborating with factory sample rooms to ensure the development of accurate and production-ready samples, and conducting risk assessments to identify and address potential issues proactively. You will play a crucial role in evaluating supplier samples for fit, construction, product safety, and appearance before submission to customers. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating and updating Excel documents for each style, facilitating customer feedback, and ensuring that technical approvals are obtained in a timely manner to meet shipment deadlines. To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a factory sample room or Buying/License office as a Garment Technologist/Technician. Proficiency in embellishment development, particularly in Print and Embroidery, is essential, along with a solid understanding of pattern making. Familiarity with 3D tools is advantageous, while excellent communication skills in English are necessary for direct interaction with UK buying and technical teams. Moreover, strong knowledge of Excel worksheets and computers will be beneficial for efficiently managing tasks and workflows.
