Description
As an Embedded Systems Engineer at this SpaceTech startup, your primary role will be to design and ship firmware for next-generation satellite components used in low-Earth orbit. You will have end-to-end ownership of the firmware development process, from prototype to flight launch, within aggressive timelines. Your responsibilities will include: - Owning the development, validation, and launch of core products within assigned areas, such as ADCS components, and acting as the single point of contact for firmware delivery. - Writing production-quality firmware for processors and microcontrollers, including STM32, ARM, and RISC-V. - Testing firmware and electrical systems to confirm design requirements. - Developing test systems that run on virtualized hardware and hardware-in-the-loop simulations. - Building robust, reliable software efficiently. - Creating prototypes to prove design concepts and quantify technical constraints. - Participating in architecture, design, and code reviews. - Writing test plans, design documentation, product manuals, and supplier documents. - Inventing tools that accelerate software deployment, test execution, and data analysis. - Working on-site in Bangalore and being willing to commit to extended hours or weekends when mission schedules demand. Qualifications required for this role include: - B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related STEM field. - Minimum of 2 years of industry experience with production hardware design. - Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python. - Deep understanding of embedded-systems fundamentals. - Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new skills, languages, and tools. Nice to have skills: - Knowledge of motor control, PID control, field-oriented control (FOC), and PWM. - Familiarity with digital signal processing, digital image processing, and control theory. - Experience building firmware for satellites.
