In this role, you will collaborate with clients" Data Science and Data Engineering teams to ensure the delivery of data operations solutions aligned with a long-term data strategy. Our department, which is AWS/Python based, is looking for proactive individuals who can contribute their insights and help shape the future direction of the department. **Responsibilities** - Supervise a designated Data Science data operation, Architecture, and Software Design. - Proficient in setting up or migrating to AWS environments. - Demonstrated success in manipulating, processing, and deriving value from large, disparate datasets. - Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries using Joins and window functions. - Strong skill sets in Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Wrangler, and PySpark. - Ability to compile large, intricate data sets meeting functional/non-functional business requirements using AWS data services like datasync, glue, Athena, Lambda, Redshift, and Aurora. - Collaborate closely with data scientists and data warehouse teams to implement emerging technologies across the business. - Develop processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management. - Ensure a high-performing team through the establishment of robust development processes and best practices. **Qualifications we seek in you!** **Minimum Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics, MIS, or related field. - Technical expertise with the qualifications mentioned above. - Experience in using cloud-based technologies, especially data operation services like AWS datasync, glue, Athena, Lambda, Redshift, and Aurora. - Proficiency in ELT principles (e.g., SCD, parallel processing, partition, etc.). - Experience in handling big data (parquet, ORC formats, hive-based metadata) and real-time data processing. **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience in medical malpractice, workers" compensation, or other low-frequency, high-severity industries (preferred but not required). - Exposure to the complete lifecycle of machine learning projects in Python or R, from ideation to execution, would be beneficial. - Familiarity with Docker or similar tools for scripting deployment.
