As a mechanical engineer at our venture-backed DeepTech startup, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing mineral exploration through AI-powered autonomous robotic systems. Your primary responsibility will be to design parts in 3D CAD that meet load conditions, industrial design form factor, and durability requirements. Additionally, you will fabricate and integrate robotics arms and drills with autonomous systems, ensuring structural and thermal analysis for system durability in field conditions. You will work closely with our founding team to pick suppliers, order parts, build prototypes, and integrate actuators, sensors, and hardware modules into robotic platforms. Your expertise in generating accurate 2D drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5 will be essential in the development process. Furthermore, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather test requirements, author test procedures, document integration processes, test plans, and validation results. To excel in this role, you should have at least 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering and hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field. Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar is required, along with experience in designing and building prototypes. Knowledge of simulation and analysis methodology, clean documentation practices, and strong experimental and communication skills are also essential. Additional bonus skills that will be advantageous include experience with actuators, electromechanical integration, multidisciplinary knowledge in actuators, sensors, mechanical engineering, test procedures, and data analysis. Experience with high volume manufacturing processes, contract manufacturers, CATIA V6, wire harness design, designing test plans for mobile robots, creating schematics and layouts for basic PCB interfaces, electrical wiring for data acquisition and motor control, MATLAB, Python, and C++ programming for embedded systems are highly valued. POSITION OVERVIEW Position is for the 3D modeling Lead in Battery Energy Storage BESS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks (Must) & AutoCAD. Prepare part, manufacturing and assembly drawings compliant with ISO/ANSI and company standards. Import/export and validate electromechanical components within system models. Develop fabrication-ready drawings adhering to internal design guidelines. Generate and manage detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs). Support concept development with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Apply DFMEA/FMEA practices to enhance design robustness.
