As a Senior Audio Hardware Engineer at our company based in Thane, MH, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing cutting-edge audio systems for our upcoming products. Your primary focus will involve creating and implementing high-performance audio hardware subsystems, ranging from microphones and speakers to amplifiers and audio codecs. Your responsibilities will include designing, prototyping, and validating both analog and digital audio circuits, such as microphone arrays, speaker drivers, amplifiers, and codecs. You will be involved in schematic design, PCB layout reviews, and the bring-up of audio hardware. Additionally, you will conduct thorough analysis and optimization of audio quality, covering aspects like signal integrity, noise reduction, echo cancellation, and distortion control. To excel in this role, you will need a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in audio hardware design and development. A strong background in audio signal path design, proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, and experience with electroacoustic testing and validation are essential qualifications. You will be responsible for evaluating and selecting audio components based on performance, cost, and power consumption. Furthermore, you will own the hardware validation and test plan for audio systems, utilizing test equipment such as Audio Precision, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers. Collaboration with manufacturing partners to address audio hardware issues during prototyping and mass production will also be part of your role. Experience in consumer electronics, wearables, or AR/VR products is considered a significant advantage for this position. Additionally, familiarity with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques, low-noise analog design, and knowledge of audio performance metrics are crucial qualifications. Moreover, having experience with beamforming, active noise cancellation, or echo cancellation, as well as an understanding of Bluetooth audio and relevant transmission standards, would be beneficial. Knowledge of voice assistants, wake-word detection architectures, and collaboration with DSP and algorithm teams are also desirable skills. In-depth understanding of audio quality metrics like THD+N, SNR, latency, and dynamic range. Hands-on experience with lab tools such as Audio Precision analyzers, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers. Knowledge of EMI/EMC mitigation and low-noise analog circuit design. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams. What You’ll Be Expected to Do: Lead end-to-end development of audio subsystems from design to validation. Select appropriate audio components considering performance, power, and cost. Own the audio validation plan and coordinate testing during prototyping and production. Work with DSP and algorithm teams for tuning and performance enhancement. Support production and resolve audio-related issues during NPI and field deployment. Nice to Have: Experience with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), AEC (Echo Cancellation), or beamforming. Familiarity with Bluetooth audio protocols like A2DP and BLE Audio. Experience in voice assistant integration or wake-word detection pipelines. Background in consumer electronics, wearables, or AR/VR audio products.
