You are one of the fastest-growing Global engineering firms (www.NV5.com) currently hiring for the role of Senior VT Engineer. This position is based out of Bangalore (Flexible/Hybrid), but you will be a part of the Dubai team, supporting Middle East/GCC projects. You should have a strong background in the Lift and Escalator Industry and previous experience in Vertical Transportation Consultancy roles. Additionally, experience in Lift and Escalator Design with demonstrable expertise in Lift Traffic Simulation is required. You must possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be fully conversant with the EN81 suite of codes, have a working knowledge of ASME series of codes, and a detailed understanding of Local (ME) Building Codes. Your responsibilities will include the development of VT design concepts, calculation of the number, size, and speed of lifts for various building types, as well as the preparation of design stage reports, drawings, and specifications for VT projects. You will also be responsible for attending client and design team meetings as necessary. In your new role, you will need advanced knowledge and experience in utilizing lift traffic design software (Elevate), CAD, BIM, Revit, and the Microsoft Office suite. You will be tasked with producing efficient VT solutions for clients, generating technical reports to illustrate designs, and coordinating meetings with project teams, VT suppliers, and subcontractors. Your role will also involve liaising with Local Authority Departments, Discipline Engineers, and VT suppliers to ensure compliance with standards and scope of work. To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in a relevant Electrical/Mechanical Engineering discipline, extensive experience in designing vertical transportation systems across various building typologies, and sectors. Knowledge of applicable VT Codes, Standards, and Building Codes is essential. You must be able to manage multiple reviews and deadlines simultaneously, be responsive to changing demands, detail-oriented, and possess strong analytical skills. Furthermore, you should have extensive knowledge of standard engineering practices, excellent organizational skills, technical capability, and delivery. Strong written and spoken English, collaboration, teamwork, communication skills for client presentations, adaptability, and a willingness to learn are also key attributes required.
