Electrical wiring harness design engineer

As a Wiring Harness Designer, your main role will be to design and develop wiring harness layouts, schematics, and 2D/3D models using CAD tools such as CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD Electrical. You will be responsible for defining wire routing, connector selection, and harness protection based on design standards. Your tasks will also include creating and maintaining the Bill of Materials (BOM), wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. Collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams for design reviews and integration will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. Ensuring compliance with automotive/industrial standards and EMI/EMC requirements will be essential. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and resolve design and assembly issues during prototype and production stages. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop wiring harness layouts, schematics, and 2D/3D models using CAD tools - Define wire routing, connector selection, and harness protection based on design standards - Create and maintain BOM, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings - Collaborate with cross-functional teams for design reviews and integration - Ensure compliance with automotive/industrial standards and EMI/EMC requirements - Troubleshoot and resolve design and assembly issues during prototype and production stages Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field - 1 year of experience in wiring harness design (automotive or similar industry preferred) - Proficiency in wiring design software such as CATIA EHI/Electrical Harness, Creo Schematics, or AutoCAD Electrical - Strong understanding of connectors, terminals, wiring standards (ISO, SAE, IPC/WHMA-A-620) - Good knowledge of electrical circuits, grounding, and routing practices - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills As for additional details of the company, there are benefits provided such as cell phone reimbursement and paid sick time.
