Job Description

Key responsibilities of an electrical draughtsman include: Creating technical drawings: Developing wiring diagrams, schematics, layouts, and other detailed drawings for electrical systems. Utilizing CAD software: Proficiently using computer-aided design (CAD) software like AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar tools to create and modify drawings. Interpreting project specifications: Understanding and incorporating project requirements, industry standards, and relevant regulations into the designs. Coordinating with other professionals: Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure designs meet project needs and resolve any design issues. Maintaining documentation: Keeping accurate records of design changes, updates, and as-built drawings. Ensuring accuracy and quality: Paying close attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and quality of all drawings and documentation. Preparing bill of materials (BOM): Creating lists of materials needed for the electrical systems based on the drawings. Following safety and quality standards: Adhering to all relevant safety and quality standards during the design and documentation process. May also: Develop general arrangement (GA) layouts, panel layouts, cable routing diagrams, earthing and lightning protection system layouts.
