As a Drafting Technician at Stantec, you will work under the supervision of a Senior Engineer/Project Lead to produce architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical contract drawings and specifications for various telecommunications projects using AutoCAD. Your responsibilities will include coordinating drawings and specifications with architectural contract documents, ensuring compliance with site-specific jurisdictional requirements, and maintaining accurate records of design revisions and project documentation. Additionally, you will collaborate with engineers to modify and refine designs to meet functionality, performance, and aesthetic goals. To qualify for this role, you should have a technical college diploma or degree, technical or vocational training in drafting technology, and 1-2 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting within the consulting industry. Experience in the Wireless Telecom industry is advantageous. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2018-2020, knowledge of the latest CAD software trends and methodologies, and familiarity with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines are essential. Skills in structural detailing and Photoshop are assets, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and fluency in spoken and written English. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment. Flexibility, adaptability to changing priorities, and willingness to work overtime to meet client deadlines are key attributes for this role. This is a full-time position based in Visakhapatnam, India, offering a regular employment status at a non-managerial job level with no travel requirement.
