As an Assistant Manager - Electrical Design in the Renewable Energy department, your role will involve leading and supporting the electrical system design for utility-scale and C&I Solar EPC projects. You will be responsible for preparing detailed electrical engineering deliverables, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring accurate and cost-effective design outputs. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and review electrical single line diagrams (SLDs), cable sizing, earthing layouts, and LV/MV system layouts. - Prepare electrical design calculations including DC sizing, AC capacity, inverter load flow, short circuit studies, fault level calculations, and protection coordination. - Design power evacuation systems from solar plant to grid (11kV/33kV/66kV/132kV). - Review OEM technical datasheets and incorporate them into project designs. - Ensure designs meet applicable standards (CEA, IS codes, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, etc.). - Prepare technical drawings using AutoCAD, E-Plan, or similar design tools. - Review and verify electrical layouts for modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and cable routing. - Coordinate with BIM/AutoCAD teams for preparation of detailed engineering drawings. - Maintain revision logs and ensure correct versioning of design documents. - Prepare design reports, load calculations, technical specifications, and engineering notes. - Develop Bill of Materials (BOM), cable schedules, equipment sizing reports, and installation guidelines. - Support preparation of DPRs, feasibility reports, and EPC tender documents. - Maintain updated documentation for client and statutory submissions. - Work closely with civil & structural engineering teams for integrated plant layouts. - Coordinate with procurement teams for technical evaluation of electrical equipment such as transformers, inverters, switchgear, HT/LT panels, protection systems, SCADA & monitoring systems. - Provide engineering support during vendor selection, FAT inspections, and technical clarifications. - Participate in discussions with clients, consultants, and external stakeholders on technical matters. - Ensure designs comply with DISCOM, CEA, CEIG, and other state regulatory bodies. - Support documentation for approvals such as SLDs, load flow studies, protection schemes, and safety clearances. - Provide engineering support to site teams for electrical installation, testing, and commissioning. - Review as-built drawings, site change requests, and support troubleshooting for electrical issues. - Conduct site visits when required for technical verification or clarification. - Ensure all engineering deliverables follow internal quality systems and ISO standards. - Perform design audits and implement corrective measures to improve design efficiency. - Ensure electrical safety, protection requirements, and statutory compliance are fully met. **Qualifications & Experience:** - Education: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering; M.Tech preferred. - Strong knowledge of national and international electrical standards (CEA, IEC, IS, IEEE). - Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVSyst, ETAP, Helioscope, or similar design tools. - Experience in designing utility-scale (MW-level) and C&I projects. - Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
