This is your role The main areas of responsibility for the employee's role, including the competencies that are particularly important to fulfill the role will be as under Advise and assist the site management in fulfillment of the legal requirements and implementation of EHS management system at Project site. Prepare Project-specific EHS Plan covering all project site activities and support the site execution team in its implementation throughout the project life cycle. Assist site manager and other site staff in preparing site specific EHS Risk Assessment, safe work method statements, SOPs, emergency response plan, Testing & commissioning plan, demolition plan, Tree cutting/transplantation plan, Material handling. Conduct sites kick off meeting with Contractors before start of work activities. Check competency of EHS manpower, tools and tackles, equipment mobilized by Contractors before start of work. Verify health check records of all persons engaged in the Project site. Carry out site EHS induction training before deployment at site. Identify training needs, prepare EHS training calendar for the duration of site and monitor the implementation of training plan. Ensure trainings are conducted timely. Verify Permit to Work compliance, conduct work specific Toolbox Talk, LMRA before start of work. Conduct site walk downs, identify unsafe act/conditions and take necessary actions. Verify the healthiness of various equipment, tools, lifting tools/tackles etc. used at site. Organize various EHS motivational/promotional programs throughout the project life cycle. Ensure regular engagement with site contractors, provided necessary support to facilitate their journey towards improvement roadmap as per EHS Evaluation report. Review Contractors EHS performance monthly to ensure they meet Siemens Energy expectations. Communicate to Project Manager any changes in legal and other requirements and ensure Legal register is kept updated throughout the duration of the site. Monthly reporting to EHS MiP on site EHS performance. Ensure site incidents are reported timely, investigated and lessons learnt are communicated to all at site. Enforce EHS requirements at site and maintain zero tolerance for EHS violations. Exercise stop work. Ensure EHS targets & guidelines are implemented at individual & /site level. Ensure effective implementation of Siemens rewards and consequence policy. We don't need superheroes, just super minds. a) Professional qualifications Diploma/Advance/PG diploma in industrial safety. Siemens SITRUST Training & First Aid Training will be an added advantage. b) Basic qualifications Degree/Diploma in any branch of Engineering or Science Graduate. c) Experience The Candidate should have worked preferably at EPC sites with experience in EHS management of construction (civil works), equipment erection, installation of machinery/equipment, testing and commissioning sites. Total work experience of 10-12 years and at least 5 years as independent site EHS in-charge. Have completed at least two installation/commissioning sites successfully. Experience in working at substation will be an added advantage. Technical Skills: Detailed knowledge of substation, commissioning maintenance requirements pertaining to EHS Adequate knowledge of EHS Procedures applicable for project sites. Familiar with best EHS Practices in the Erection, scaffolding & testing and commissioning. Able to independently conduct EHS planning, EHS audits, EHS Training, Hazard Identification Risk Assessment, reporting and Contractor evaluation. Preparation of MIS and presentation to the project management. Soft Skills: Good written and oral communication skills. Good command over Hindi language. Ability to deal with both external and internal customers. Excellent coordination, monitoring and supervisory skills Collaboration and influencing. Good presentation & report-writing skills. Youll make an impact by: Provide management and employees with competent EHS advice and action plans. Provide guidance and support to management on the promotion and implementation of the EHS strategies, procedures, guidelines, and goals for continuous improvements, at all sites assigned in the region. Ensure that environment and health impacts and significant risks are identified, reviewed, and communicated and provide active support in mitigating such risks/impacts & regular visits to sites to provide practical safe solutions for high-risk activities. Ensure that appropriate measuring and monitoring of EHS issues is undertaken and reported accurately and transparently. Provide advice and support to BU management on EHS compliance. Provide assistance in the completion of risk assessments & JSA where required and ensure that they are regularly reviewed, and mitigation measures are undertaken. Ensure all accidents and near misses are recorded, reported, and investigated in accordance with the company accident and reporting procedures, and all corrective/preventive actions are identified, implemented, and reviewed. Ensure relevant EHS records (e.g. policy documentation, risk assessments, safety data sheets, registers, fire drills and training records etc.) are maintained and updated as and when necessary. Ensure provision is made for all employees, including temporary staff and contractors, to receive effective and sufficient training and instruction by way of the companys EHS competency development program. Act on employee complaints relating to Health, Safety or Welfare, communication through the relevant company channels and bring to the attention of the concerned authorities as required. Ensure updated information of legal requirements, hazards in the workplace company EHS policy and procedures. Ensure adequate supplies of effective PPE, as specified by risk assessments, are readily available for those employees visiting clientspremises. Youll win us over by: Diploma/Advance diploma in industrial safety from State-board. NEBOSH IGC will be an added advantage. Degree/Diploma in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or relevant branch of Engineering. Minimum 3 yrs of experience in driving Implementation of EHS System in the field of Indian Railway Projects and EPC Projects. Experience of handling multiple sites/ teams of EHS resources as an EHS coordinator. Detailed knowledge of all requirements pertaining to EHS. Have good communication skills and proficiency in reporting. This role is based in Bangalore. Job Summary: The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining the organizations environmental, health, and safety programs. This role involves conducting safety audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. Role & responsibilities Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and standards. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to regulatory agencies. - Safety Programs: Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards. Oversee incident investigation and reporting and implement corrective actions. - Training and Education: Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees. Promote awareness and understanding of safety practices and regulations. Maintain records of training sessions and employee certifications. - Environmental Management: Monitor and manage waste disposal, recycling, and pollution prevention programs. Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials. Coordinate with external vendors for environmental services as needed. - Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Conduct regular drills and ensure readiness for emergencies. Act as a point of contact for emergency response and management. - Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance activities. Prepare and present reports on EHS performance and compliance to management. - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving EHS programs and practices. Stay current with industry best practices and advancements in EHS technology. Preferred candidate profile Requirements and skills Physical Requirements: Ability to conduct inspections and audits, which may involve walking, standing, or climbing. Capable of wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Work Environment: May involve working in both office and field environments. Occasionally required to work outside regular hours to address safety concerns or emergencies. Educational qualification: Bachelors degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are a plus. Years of Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental health and safety, preferably in a similar industry. Skills: Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency with EHS management software and tools.
